Tutorial How to Install RSS Media Reader for Kodi Hong Kong Taiwan China Thailand Japan Korea Dramas Movies

Early this year I shared with you on how to watch Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Korean dramas and movies by setting RSS in Kodi. However, that RSS method is no longer working.

The good news is now myrss has been converted to support Android and iOS as an individual app. So now you still can watch the same content from myrss using mobile phone, tablet or tv box with Android and iOS.

What you need to do is download and configure the app and you are good to go! In this article, I will show you how to do just that in a few simple steps.

Use the link http://allrss.se/dramas. The old URL is not valid anymore

• Step 1: Go to 'http://myrss.nu' and download the apk file. You can download directly into your tv box, for example, my asus tinker board, or copy to usb drive and plug into tv box later.

• Step 2: Go to download area in your tv box or your USB drive.

• Step 3: Select 'RSSMediaReader.apk' at your download area or USB drive.

• Step 4: Click 'INSTALL' to install RS Media Reader.

• Step 5: Click 'OPEN' after successful installation

• Step 6: At front page of RSS Media Reader, select 'Channels' to setup application links.

• Step 7: Click the '+' icon at the top right corner to add channel links.

• Step 8: At the pop up window, enter 'myrss.nu/drama' at Rss link and 'any name you like at Rss name, such as 'Drama Channels'.

• Step 9: Drama channels added. Click 'Cancel' to exit or you can enter another channel like 'myrss.nu/anime' for Anime.

• Step 10: To watch drama, select 'Drama Channels' at Home page.

• Step 11: Here is a list of selection under Drama Channels.

• Step 12: Here is a list of Korean drama.

• Step 13: Here is a list of streaming quality selection.

  @James C. Thanks for the tip on installing Rss on the Fire TV. It works, the tricky part is showing my elderly parents how to use it instead of ICDrama on Kodi. They are used to ICDrama, but Rss is a good back-up when ICDrama is down (like it is now). Thx.

  I am not developer of RSS Media Reader. However, the Asus Tinker Board Android 6 that I am testing is tv box, not handphone.
  Most of the tv boxes not able to download from Play Store, need to side load with es file explorer.

  For FireTV, it's a little gimmicky since you cannot select the '+' icon without a usb mouse.
  I had to go to the Channels tab and select the Sample RSS Channel. Once selected, you can change the Sample RSS Channel link to myrss.nu/drama. Then go back to Home tab and you should be able to access the proper channel.
  Another thing to note, you cannot use the back button function, it will not go back to previous screen. I had to exit out of the app everytime to go to different stream or episode. You also cannot pause/forward/rewind with FireTV.

  Does anyone have a solution for myRSS media reader install on FireTV? Can't access '+' in order to add channels. Is there a keyboard that can be attached to FireTV? Would it help?

  Can u pls create version for android tv aps? Maybe its because was android phone aps. As u can check it is not for android tv aps which not able to download via google play store under android tv

  Hello KY,
  I tested on tv boxes with Android 4.4 (mibox and hypp tv) , 5.0.1 (samsung s4) and 6.x (asus tinker board).
  Only Android 4.4 not able to play video using RSS Media Reader.
  There are some video selections not able to play on Android 5.0.1 but other selections can play. Overall still okay and able to enjoy the drama.
  No issue on Android 6.x

  the resolution went off/blurred when it runs by my sharp android tv.. pls help
  fyi the android tv ver is 5.1. and its the latest for andriod tv, no further updates..

  Are you on Android 4.x? I tested RSS Media Reader on HyppTV box and old Mi Box, both on Android 4.x, both have problem display video correctly.
  However, on my Asus Tinker Board with Android 6.x, everything is great and display is HD.

  I used mouse and keyboard direct connect to my tv box. Both enable scroll up and down. You might want to try it.

  Hello Lin,
  The resolution can be up to 1080p. I normally play 720p without problem. Can you specify the path of the drama you are having low resolution issue?

  Hi. I have downloaded the RSS Media Player app and added the myrss.nu/drama link. I am able to see the list of movies/series, but when select a drama and click on it, a message pops up requesting to download the RSS Media Player app and play from this app. Any idea how to resolve this?

  Hi Carol. Thank you so much for updating how to use RSS to see Asian movies and drama series. I think that Wai has the same problem I did when creating the new new RSS apk file.
  I could not use just the remote for my Android TV box. I had to use a mouse to navigate, and also play the videos by clicking on play.

  Thanks for the sharing. Unfortunately theFire TV remote cannot fully control the RSS media reader. For example, cannot point the top bar key, such as back, edit & +.
